Letters and retained fair copies of letters documenting the diplomatic business conducted in 1764 by Walter Titley, Envoy-Extraordinary to the court of Denmark and Norway. Correspondents include John Montagu, fourth Earl of Sandwich; George Montagu Dunk, second Earl of Halifax; Sir John Goodricke; and Edward Sedgwick. Subjects include British foreign policy; the affairs of the court in Copenhagen; information on the policies and activities of the Baltic States and Russia; a dispute with the French Ambassador; and the problems of smuggling on the Isle of Man.
